Theatre Workshops for Schools

MOMOM designs and delivers theatre workshops for children and teenagers, offering enriching educational experiences within nursery, primary, middle, and high schools. The workshops are available throughout the province of Como. For nursery schools, MOMOM proposes creative activities focused on body expression and storytelling. For primary and secondary schools, two complementary pathways are available:
Creating a performance – a journey that leads students to build and stage a play in front of an audience.
Theatre foundations – an introduction to theatre practice through engaging and playful activities. The purpose of each workshop is to let students experience the art of theatre firsthand. Through specific exercises, participants train body and voice while developing key skills such as self-awareness, group listening, concentration, trust, improvisation, use of language, rhythm, and expressive gestures.MOMOM offers a rich repertoire of theatre projects: schools can choose from a wide selection of titles or request tailor-made workshops designed to meet their specific needs. All activities are carefully structured by age group, ensuring that every child and teenager can fully benefit from an experience suited to their abilities.

Training for Adults Around Childhood

MOMOM offers training programs dedicated to adults who live, work, and grow alongside childhood: parents, teachers, educators, caregivers, and all those who wish to explore new tools and practices to support children on their journey of growth. Two unique pathways, led by Claudio Milani, invite participants to immerse themselves in this journey: Words in the Hands – exploring the power of gesture and voice to give life to stories,
Sailing Through Stories – a voyage into the art of narration, where imagination becomes a compass.

Over the years, Claudio Milani has developed a unique storytelling method born from the harmony of gesture, spoken word, and the use of objects. This method is called “Words in the Hands.”
Words in the Hands is a hands-on workshop that teaches how to apply this method to an existing story. It is designed for everyone, because every human being who communicates is, in essence, a storyteller. The workshop lasts a total of 12 hours and is intended for adults. It can be structured in 2, 3, 4, or 5 sessions, with a maximum of 16 participants. All that’s needed is a spacious room, free of furniture, ready to welcome creativity and imagination.

Fairy tales are the roots of the stories that have always fascinated humanity. Stories change the world.
Today, narratives take on new shapes and flow through the tools we use every day: smartphones, computers, television, cinema, picture books… But how do we choose, and what do we choose? Often, we feel the need for guidance—something to help us navigate this vast ocean of possibilities.
Sailing Through Stories offers practical tools to build a compass—one that can guide us as we set sail across the sea of tales that shape our culture.
This workshop is designed for adults who live and work around childhood: parents, educators, and teachers, as well as anyone who wishes to join. Sessions last 2 to 3 hours, and the maximum number of participants depends on the venue’s capacity.
